ABCP and SNIC announce the 9th CBCi program

The 9th CBCi Program – The Brazilian Portland Cement Association (ABCP) and the Brazilian Cement Industry Union (SNIC) have just announced the program for the 9th Brazilian Conference on Cement (CBCi).

The topics to be discussed are part of a set of initiatives for Brazil’s development through the cement and construction production chains.

The 9th CBCi program highlights the transformative role of the cement industry, with effective actions to change the energy matrix, decarbonize the sector, and innovate for the sustainable development of infrastructure aiming at a more eco-efficient world.

Day 1: Opening with Authorities and Business Leaders

The first day of the conference will be attended by authorities and by political and business leaders, consolidating the CBCi as the main event for the cement and construction value chains.

The 8th CBCi – In the previous edition, held in 2023, the following figures attended the opening: Rodrigo Rollemberg (Secretary of Green Economy, Decarbonization and Bioindustry of the MDIC), Inês Magalhães (Vice President of Housing at Caixa Econômica Federal), Josué Gomes (President of FIESP), Vahan Agopyan (State Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation of the State of São Paulo), Marcos Monteiro (Municipal Secretary of Urban Infrastructure and Public Works of São Paulo). The event also featured the online participation of Brazil’s Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and the presence of leaders from various entities and companies in the industry.

Day 2: Energy Transition and Decarbonization

The second day of the event will be dedicated to discussions on energy transition and strategies for the cement industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Experts will be addressing topics such as climate neutrality, COP 30, co-processing technology, and sustainable solutions for urban waste management.

Day 3: Infrastructure and Innovation

The third day brings together the various links in the construction production chain to discuss infrastructure, climate change, and the impact on cities. The day’s agenda also includes panels on innovation, ongoing solutions, and new cement types. The closing will feature the CEOs’ views on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry until 2050.
