Rafael Giuliano Pileggi

Full professor at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP). He holds a degree in materials engineering from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) as well as a Master’s, Doctorate and Post-Doctorate in materials science and engineering from the same university. He worked as a visiting professor at ETH Zurich (Switzerland), where he completed his post-doctorate studies in digital concrete manufacturing projects, including 3D printing and Smart Dynamic Casting (SDC), among other technologies.

He is a senior researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT/CNPq/FAPESP); member of the Executive Board of the EMBRAPII Eco-efficient Construction Unit UE-CICS/POLI/USP; coordinator of EMBRAPII projects and research coordinator at the Sectoral Consortium for Innovation in Mortar Coating Technology (Consitra E); one of the coordinating professors of the Laboratory of Microstructure and Eco-Efficiency of Materials (LME) of the Polytechnic School of USP, participating in the creation of the first Living Lab building in Brazil, serving at the Center for Innovation in Sustainable Construction (CICS), and being part of the staff responsible for the implementation of the Digital Construction Laboratory (dclab), a multi-user space of the hubIC project – construction innovation hub, created by the partnership between USP, the Brazilian Portland Cement Association (ABCP) and Brazilian Cement Industry Union (SNIC).
